About Replacement Vape Coils
The vape coil is the heating element inside the vape pod or tank. It warms the liquid that is absorbed by the wick making the vapour you breathe. Since the wick and heating element wear out over time and brittle, coils are disposable parts that require regular replacement. There aren't any coils that fit every vape. It is dependent on the tank, device or pod, the coil series resistance, and manufacturer specifications. For instance, SMOK Nord, SMOK RPM and Vaporesso GTX are separate coil platforms, so knowing the specific coil family is crucial prior to purchasing.Popular Vape Coil Brands and Series
Vaportiser has replacement coils available from a variety of well-known brands. For each company, they have various coils that are designed specifically for specific devices, tanks, and vaping styles.SMOK Nord and RPM Coils
SMOK RPM and Nord coils are some of the most well-known replacement coils to be used with SMOK pods and pod mods for pods. This Nord coil series can be used in conjunction with compatible Nord devices and provides a variety of resistance options to make MTL more tighter as well as more free vaping. RPM is the RPM series comprises several generations, such as RPM 2, RPM 2 and various specific coils for different platforms. SMOK devices. It is not necessary to think that every RPM or Nord coil will fit each SMOK device. Always ensure that the coils you choose to use are compatible to your specific pod or tank.Vaporesso GTX and COREX Coils
Vaporesso's replacement coils are available on the most popular platforms, such as GTX and COREX-based coil technology. GTX coils are utilized in the range of Vaporesso pod mods, tanks and pods, offering different resistances to support MTL, RDL and DTL vaping. Vaporesso's COREX technology is also employed in a few more recent coil systems to increase the quality of heating and flavour. Be sure to verify your Vaporesso model prior to purchasing, as GTX, GTi, GT and other coil platforms aren't instantly interchangeable.VOOPOO PnP and PnP X Coils
VOOPOO PnP coils are specifically designed to be compatible with VOOPOO pod tanks and kits, with different resistance options to suit an extensive spectrum different vaping types. The latest PnPX coil line is designed to be compatible with older devices, and should not be considered as being identical to the original PnP line. Verifying the exact model of the device or pod is the best method of selecting the appropriate replacement.GeekVape Z Coils
GeekVape Z coils Also known by the name of Zeus coils, come with the compatible GeekVape tanks and more powerful vaping setups. Many models use mesh construction and less resistance to RDL as well as DTL vaping. Always verify the tank's exact specifications and recommended wattage before deciding on Z coils as GeekVape makes a variety of coil families.Aspire Nautilus Coils
The Aspire Nautilus coils are an established choice in MTL vaping. The range offers a variety of resistance options, allowing users to choose between a tighter draw or lower power experience, in accordance with their device of choice. The Nautilus family of tanks has been used across some Aspire pod and tanks; however, compatibility may differ between generations.Innokin Z Coils
Innokin Z coils can be used in conjunction with compatible Innokin tanks and pods as well as devices belonging to the Zenith family. Different resistance options enable users to select between a more tense MTL draw or more relaxed vaping. Always verify the recommended wattage of the coil prior to using it.Coil Types and Vaping Styles
Coil resistance can help determine the kind of vaping experience that a replacement coil could offer. Bu, it's only an approximate guide. The power range of the device and airflow, the coil's construction and manufacturer's suggestions also impact the effectiveness.| Coil Type | Typical Resistance | Vaping Style | Common E-Liquid | Vapour Production |
| Higher Resistance | About 1.0Ω and over | MTL | 50/50 VG/PG and nicotine salts | Lower |
| Mid Resistance | Around 0.6Ω to 0.9Ω | MTL/RDL | 50/50 to 60/40 | Moderate |
| Lower Resistance | Below 0.6Ω | RDL/DTL | Higher-VG e-liquid | Higher |
MTL Vape Coils
Mouth-to lung (MTL) coils tend to be designed for more tense draw, which is similar to the way traditional cigarettes is taken inhaled. They typically use more resistance and less power. MTL coils are typically used in conjunction to 50/50 VG/PG e-liquids, or appropriate nicotine salt liquids. They generate less vapour than sub-ohm coils, and could be an ideal option for those who want an unobtrusive vaping experience. The most popular MTL-focused coil families are Aspire Nautilus, Innokin Zenith and other SMOK Nord coils.RDL Vape Coils
Restricted Direct to Lung (RDL) coils allow for an experience that is more flexible than MTL, however, they are more restricted than DTL vaping. RDL coils are typically located in a middle resistance range however the actual resistance varies between brands. They are able to help to balance flavour, vapour production and airflow. The best e-liquid for you depends on the specific coil used, make sure to check the recommendations of the manufacturer.DTL and Sub-Ohm Vape Coils
Direct-to-Lung (DTL) coils are typically designed to provide greater airflow and openness, as well as higher output and more vapour production. A large majority of DTL coils have a resistance of sub-ohm that means their resistance is less than 1.0Ω. Mesh coils with lower resistance are commonly found in the latest sub-ohm tanks as well as potent pod mods. They are typically coupled with higher-VG e-liquids that are compatible. Do not select an under-ohm coil on the resistance alone. The device you choose should be able to provide the power required.Mesh vs Standard Wire Coils
What Are Mesh Vape Coils?
Mesh coils make use of a flat, perforated heating surface of metal rather than the typical wound wire. The wider surface area allows the coil to heat liquid more evenly. Mesh technology is extensively utilized in pod systems that are modern and sub-ohm tanks. Based on the device's resistance and resistance mesh coils offer quick heating, strong flavour and increased production of vapour. Mesh doesn't necessarily indicate that a coil was designed to be used for DTL vaping. Mesh coils are available in different resistance levels and styles of vaping. What Are Standard Wire Coils?
Wire coils of standard size employ a conventional wrapped or spiral wire heater. They are used in many established MTL tank systems and pods. They provide a safe smoking experience and are frequent across the classic and older coil systems, such as selected Aspire Nautilus systems.Which Is Better, Mesh or Standard Wire?
Both are not necessarily more beneficial for everyone. Mesh coils have become well-known for their even heating and a robust flavour as well as standard wire coils are still useful in traditional MTL vaping and other compatible devices. The most important aspect is to select the right coil for your vaping device and style. How to Choose the Right Replacement Coil
Selecting the right replacement coil is easy if you look at the following factors:1. Identify Your Device
Find the exact model of your kit or tank. A brand name alone is not enough as manufacturers make use of different coil platforms.2. Check the Coil Series
Find the family that is compatible like the SMOK RPM Vaporesso GTX, VOOPOO PnP, GeekVape Z, Aspire Nautilus, or Innokin Z.3. Choose the Right Resistance
A higher resistance is usually associated with vaping MTLs that have lower power While lower resistance is usually employed in RDL or DTL setups.4. Check the Recommended Wattage
Every replacement coil comes with a suggested power range. It is important to stay within this range to avoid premature burning and low performance.5. Consider Your E-Liquid
The e-liquid you choose to use must be compatible with the coil. Higher resistance MTL coils typically work with 50/50 e-liquids. the majority of sub-ohms with lower resistance are made for liquids with higher VG.6. Consider Your Preferred Draw
Pick a coil that is suitable and an airflow mix depending on your preference for MTL or RDL. DTL smoking. How to Prime a New Vape Coil
A new coil should be adequately saturated prior to using. Inject a small amount E-liquid to the wick, if needed. Then, place it on the coil and refill your pod or tank. Let the e-liquid soak into the wick prior to beginning the first inhale. Begin with the lower portion in the recommended and gradually increase it if necessary. Proper priming reduces the possibility of having burning or dry hits when you are using a brand new coil. How Long Do Vape Coils Last?
A typical vape coil lasts between 1 to 2 weeks there isn't a set timeframe for its lifespan. Your frequency of vaping, power setting, e-liquid, and the design of the coil will all impact the time that it takes. A lot of use and a high amount of sweetened e-liquids can cause the residue to build up much faster. The coil needs to be replaced if performance begins to decline instead of relying on a set number of days.Signs You Need to Replace Your Vape Coil
The coil could need to be replaced if you notice:- The taste is harsh or burnt.
- A mild or weak flavour
- Reduced vapour production
- The sound of gurgling or other unusual sounds
- Persistent leaking
- Cotton that is dark or burnt-looking
- A significant change in the draw that is normal
